Fiber & Structured Cabling
Build the backbone once, and build it right.
ResidentFi designs and installs the physical network for new construction and major renovations: fiber service entrance, telecom rooms, risers, and fiber or copper to every unit and amenity. We work from your drawings, coordinate with the general contractor and low-voltage trades, and deliver a network ready for decades of upgrades.
Why infrastructure decisions matter most
The cabling installed during construction determines what a property can offer for its entire life. Fiber to every unit costs little more than copper when the walls are open and removes the ceiling on speed for decades. Decisions about riser space, telecom room size, and conduit paths are inexpensive on paper and costly after drywall.
What we design and install
ResidentFi provides the complete passive and active design: carrier entrance and redundant conduits, main and intermediate distribution rooms, riser fiber, horizontal fiber or Category 6A to each unit, outlets in the right rooms, and pathways to amenities, parking, and outdoor spaces. We document everything and label every port.
Working with your construction team
We join the project at the design stage, provide drawings and specifications for the low-voltage package, attend coordination meetings, and schedule rough-in and trim with the general contractor. Lease-up communities receive a live network on the first move-in day, not weeks after.
Future-ready by design
A ResidentFi backbone supports managed Wi-Fi, television, phone, smart building systems, cameras, access control, and in-building cellular from the same infrastructure. When wireless standards change, the access points change; the fiber stays.
What is included

Questions
Common questions
When should ResidentFi be involved in a new project?
As early as schematic design. Riser space, telecom rooms, and conduit paths are easy to adjust on drawings and expensive to change once construction is underway.
Fiber or copper to the unit?
Both work for managed Wi-Fi today. Fiber removes the long-term ceiling on speed and is usually the better investment during new construction; copper is often the practical choice in retrofits. We recommend based on the building and the budget.
