Smart Building & IoT Network
The network your smart building actually needs.
Smart locks, thermostats, leak detection, cameras, gates, and package lockers all depend on a network that is always on and properly separated from resident traffic. ResidentFi provides that network as part of the property-wide design, so every device has a secure, monitored connection without a hub in every unit.
Smart apartments depend on the network
A smart lock that cannot reach the server is a lock that will not open. Most smart apartment platforms were designed to run over property-wide Wi-Fi, and their reliability is only as good as that network. When each unit has a separate consumer router, operators end up installing a hub in every apartment and troubleshooting hundreds of them.
A dedicated building network
ResidentFi provisions a separate, secured network for building systems on the same infrastructure that serves residents. Devices are isolated from resident and guest traffic, prioritized so a thermostat command is never stuck behind a movie download, and visible to our monitoring so a failing device is noticed before a resident complains.
Platform coordination
We work with your smart apartment, access control, and camera vendors during design to confirm device requirements, placement, and power, and we provide the wired drops and power-over-Ethernet ports those systems need. Self-guided tours, remote unit access, and vacant-unit climate control all become practical.
Built for what comes next
Package rooms, EV chargers, water submeters, and parking systems are joining the list of connected equipment every year. A property on a ResidentFi network adds them by provisioning a port or a credential, not by starting over.
What is included
Smart Building & IoT Network: what we provide
Isolated device network
Building systems kept separate from resident and guest traffic.
Traffic priority
Locks, sensors, and cameras take precedence over entertainment traffic.
Power over Ethernet
Wired, powered ports for cameras, access control, and intercoms.
Vendor coordination
Requirements confirmed with your smart apartment and security platforms.
Device monitoring
Offline devices flagged by our NOC around the clock.
No in-unit hubs
Property-wide coverage removes the need for a gateway in every apartment.
Questions
Common questions
Which smart apartment platforms does ResidentFi support?
Our network is platform-neutral. We confirm the connectivity, power, and placement requirements of the platform you select and provision the network to meet them.
Can building systems be added to a network that already serves residents?
Yes. A dedicated building network is a configuration of the same infrastructure and can be added to any ResidentFi community.
