Network Takeover & Retrofit

A better network, without starting from zero.

Many communities already have a property-wide network that underperforms, a contract with a provider that disappeared, or a building full of consumer routers. ResidentFi takes over existing networks, reuses what is sound, replaces what is not, and moves residents to the new service without a day offline.

Start with what you have

Every takeover begins with a survey of the cabling, equipment, telecom rooms, and service entrance. Much of a prior installation is often usable: riser fiber, pathways, and sometimes switching. We document what can stay, what must go, and why, so you are not paying to replace good infrastructure.

Retrofitting occupied buildings

Residents are living in the units while the work happens. We schedule access in short, announced windows, install in-unit equipment in minutes per apartment, and bring the new network up alongside the old one so residents move over on their own schedule before the old service is retired.

Leaving a previous provider

Exclusive marketing agreements, revenue-share contracts, and equipment ownership questions can complicate a change. We review your existing agreements with you, plan the transition around their terms, and coordinate directly with the outgoing provider where that helps.

After the takeover

The community receives the full ResidentFi service: private unit networks, amenity coverage, 24/7 monitoring, and resident support. Chronic complaints become a closed ticket history, and the leasing team gets a network they can sell.

Questions

Common questions

Will residents lose service during the switch?

No. The new network is brought up alongside the existing one, and residents move at their own pace before the old service is turned off.

Can ResidentFi take over a network another company installed?

Yes. We assess any existing installation and either operate, upgrade, or replace it depending on what the survey finds.
